Burdick’s comments about what sheriff’s think, or are doing, are so far beyond baloney, there is nowhere to start with her fabrications.
The Sheriff’s Association testified in 2009 that they supported a Vermont style carry law in Oregon, no license required.
Ginny girl… get a job.
Oh by the way Alford, giving or denying a permit has nothing to do with “giving people weapons.” Try reading a law once in a while.
People like Burdick have no business deciding ANYTHING for ANYONE! I feel bad for her pets, children, spouse, etc, if she has any of these.
She has to GO! Oregon does not need her or her kind.
I may have to move to Arizona if Oregon wont get real. Then Ginny Burdick will have just a little less taxes from this gun owner.
What was missing from the discussion on “Permit to Carry”, is the statistics regarding crime by Permit to Carry holders, and statistics regarding crime stopped by Permit to Carry holders.
There is never a cop there when you need them; most people do not recognize that when there is a Mad Man with a weapon, your only protection is the presence of a Permit to Carry peson.
So because the state does such a lousy job of tracking criminals, law abiding citizens should not be allowed to carry? This is a good illustration of why it is not wise to depend on government to protect our rights. It can be done much better by each individual.
Maybe we should discuss this but why, the NRA doesn’t seem to value discussion and the First Amendment?
Interesting how I heard the same arguments growing up over voting rights, as I hear about how the sheriffs know who should be able to exercise gun rights.
Interesting that when inexpensive guns are banned, the people whose safety is most in jeapordy (minority people living inner city in high crime rate areas) can not afford protection.
Interesting how anti-gun right people are allowed to express what they think, and not the facts, without being challenged by the media.
